Rick is an artist living and working in North Devon. He studied for a Master’s Degree in Fine Art Printmaking at Wimbledon School of Art in 1996. Since then he has worked in various different media, including acrylic, pen & ink & watercolour pencil.
Rick uses rich colours and optical techniques to create depth and movement in his work. For some, but by no means all, of his work, he uses a device known as a ‘twin-elliptic harmonograph’, a double pendulum which creates complex graphic images worthy of a powerful computer (see ‘Harmonography’ page). His recent work involves the artistic representation of mathematical formulae.
